Subhashree Sahu Family
Subhashree keeps most of her family life private. Her mother’s name is reported to be Sunita Sahu, and her father’s name has not been made public. Her family stood by her through the hardest period of her early career, including the harassment she faced in 2023. In an earlier interview, her mother said the family was happy about her daughter’s sudden fame but worried about her safety, and had taken steps to protect her. Family members also appear in some of her vlogs, which show everyday life, festivals, and celebrations at home.

Subhashree Sahu Career
Starting on Instagram (2022)
Subhashree began creating content in 2022 while still in school. She posted lip-sync clips and dance videos on Instagram, set to trending Hindi and Odia songs, and a few of those reels spread widely, bringing in thousands of new followers. Like many regional creators, she grew with simple videos shot at home, and her audience came mostly from Odisha and the rest of India. Her profile today describes her as a content creator, artist, and actor, and her Instagram bio talks about turning reels into real stories.
A Hard 2023 and a Comeback
In 2023, her Instagram account was blocked. While trying to recover it, she reportedly contacted someone she believed could help, and that person turned out to be a scammer who took money and then pressed her for more, including personal content, which she refused. Soon after, fabricated material attributed to her spread online without her consent. She and her family said it was fake, and the case was taken to the police.
She faced heavy harassment during that period, and her family supported her. Instead of leaving social media, she kept posting. In November 2023, she started a YouTube vlog channel called Subhashree Sahu vlogs, which gave her audience a more personal look at her life. The channel now has about 159,000 subscribers and 134 videos.
Growing Again (2024 to 2026)
In 2024, deepfake videos using her likeness appeared online, which again showed how AI can be misused against young creators. She kept posting through all of it, with dance clips, lifestyle content, and short videos. She also built an official Telegram channel, which has around 27,000 subscribers, and has a presence on Snapchat. By July 2026, her Instagram following was around 1.1 million, and by August, trackers listed her at about 1.4 million. She also used Instagram’s paid subscription feature, which reportedly drew close to 6,000 subscribers.
In July 2026, she announced that she was planning to move into live streaming so she could interact with her audience in real time. No launch date has been shared yet.
The 2026 Account Removal and Return
On August 14, 2026, her @subhaslyf account became unavailable. She posted from her X account, @Subha_Jpeg, asking Meta to review the decision, and said Indian creators deserve equal treatment and fair moderation. About a month later, the account was live again with a verified badge, and trackers showed it had passed 1.6 million followers by September 17. Neither Meta nor Subhashree has publicly explained exactly what happened or how the account came back.
Online Harassment and the Legal Case
In 2023, when Subhashree was a minor, fabricated content attributed to her spread across social media and messaging apps. Police in Odisha registered a case under India’s Information Technology Act and the POCSO Act, which protects children from sexual offenses. Several outlets later reported that the material was fake, and in 2024 and 2026, some people recirculated old or AI-made clips under misleading labels, which caused confusion again.
Her story is now often mentioned in discussions about cyber harassment, deepfakes, and digital consent in India. Sharing, searching for, or forwarding this kind of material causes real harm and can be a crime. If you or someone you know is facing online harassment in India, you can report it to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or call the helpline at 1930.
