Travis Kelce has added another impressive property to his real-estate portfolio, and this one has a very personal connection to the NFL star.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end purchased a $5.35 million lakefront estate in Bratenahl, Ohio, a small village just outside Cleveland. The deal closed in March 2026, although details of the purchase have only recently come to light.
For Kelce, this isn’t just another luxury home. The property sits only a few miles from Cleveland Heights, where he grew up with his brother Jason Kelce.
And considering how massive the house is, calling it simply a “home” almost feels like underselling it.
Where Is Travis Kelce’s New Ohio Home?
The property is located in Bratenahl, an affluent community along the southern shore of Lake Erie, just northeast of Cleveland.
The estate covers approximately 3.5 acres and sits directly along the lake. The location also puts Kelce relatively close to his hometown, while offering the privacy that comes with a smaller, upscale community.
Bratenahl is known for its historic homes and lakefront estates, so Kelce’s purchase fits surprisingly well with the character of the neighborhood.
The Mansion Is More Than 21,000 Square Feet
The biggest headline about the property might be its price, but the size is what really stands out.
The historic mansion measures roughly 21,140 square feet and includes eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. There’s also a five-car garage, a pool and several other luxury amenities.
The property was originally built in 1895, giving it more than a century of history.
Rather than looking like a brand-new celebrity mansion, the estate combines that old-world character with modern upgrades. Original details such as carved walnut, leaded glass, marble and fireplaces have been preserved following an extensive renovation.
What Is Inside the Ohio Estate?
There is plenty going on inside the massive property.
The mansion reportedly includes a media room, game room, home theater, fitness area and sauna, along with the large living and entertaining spaces you’d expect from a property of this scale.
One of the more unusual details is the home’s former ballroom. The space has been transformed as part of the renovation, while the property’s gatehouse has been converted into a two-bedroom guest cottage.
There is also a heated pool and substantial outdoor space overlooking Lake Erie.
So yes, it is very much the kind of house where you could spend an entire weekend without really needing to leave.
Kelce Got the Property for Less Than Its Original Asking Price
The property wasn’t originally expected to sell for $5.35 million.
According to property records and real-estate listings, the estate was purchased by Figurati Construction Group for $1.95 million in 2023 before undergoing an extensive renovation. It was later listed for as much as $6.99 million and was most recently asking $5.99 million.
Kelce ultimately closed the deal for $5.35 million.
That means the NFL star paid considerably less than the property’s earlier asking price, while still getting a completely renovated historic estate.
Why Ohio Makes Sense for Travis Kelce
The timing of the purchase has naturally attracted attention because Kelce bought the home just months before his July 2026 wedding to Taylor Swift.
But there is another obvious reason for the Ohio connection: this is home for Kelce.
He grew up in Cleveland Heights and has maintained strong ties to the Cleveland area. The new Bratenahl property gives him a luxury residence close to the place where his football story began.
The couple also already has properties in other parts of the country, so the Ohio estate doesn’t necessarily replace anything. Instead, it appears to add another significant location to their growing collection of homes.
A New Home for the Newlyweds
Kelce’s Ohio purchase became public only after the couple had already married, making the property another interesting detail from their first year as newlyweds.
Swift and Kelce now have an enormous lakefront estate near his hometown, complete with historic architecture, modern amenities and plenty of privacy.
Whether the property becomes their primary base in Ohio or simply a place to escape to when Kelce is away from the NFL spotlight remains to be seen.
But one thing is already clear: Travis Kelce’s $5.35 million Ohio home is far more than a luxury purchase. It’s a massive piece of Cleveland-area history, located remarkably close to where the Chiefs star grew up.
