A dismissed police constable of Punjab, Amandeep Kaur, is in the headlines these days. This “Insta Queen”, once known for her flashy lifestyle on Instagram, is now embroiled in serious cases of corruption and drugs. Recently, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested her in a disproportionate assets case.
How did Amandeep Kaur’s case come to light?
Amandeep Kaur was caught with 17.71 grams of heroin in April 2025. A joint team of Anti Narcotics Task Force and police stopped her near Badal flyover in Bathinda. Amandeep, who was trying to escape by getting out of the car, was arrested on the spot by the woman constable and the team. During the search of the car, heroin was recovered in a polythene bag near the gear box.
After this arrest, Amandeep was arrested in a case under the NDPS Act (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act) and was released on bail from Bathinda Court on May 2.
Property worth crores, but salary was limited
After the arrest, Punjab Vigilance Bureau investigated his property and found that he had amassed more property than his income. In total, she was found to have assets worth more than ₹1.35 crore, which includes:
- 217 square yard plot in Virata Green, Bathinda – ₹99 lakh
- 120 square yard plot in Dream City, Bathinda – ₹18.12 lakh
- Mahindra Thar SUV – ₹14 lakh
- Royal Enfield Bullet – ₹1.7 lakh
- iPhone 13 Pro Max – ₹45,000
- iPhone SE – ₹9,000
- Vivo mobile phone – ₹2,000
- Rolex watch – estimated value unknown
- Bank balance – around ₹1 lakh
Royal life was visible on Instagram
Amandeep Kaur was very active on social media and people knew her as “Insta Queen” on Instagram. Expensive watches, branded handbags and gold jewellery were openly displayed in her reels and videos. Seeing her videos, anyone would feel that she is no less than a celebrity.
Expenses 28% more than income!
According to the vigilance investigation, Amandeep Kaur’s total legitimate income between 2018 and 2024 was ₹ 1.83 crore, but she showed assets and expenses of more than ₹ 2.15 crore, which was about ₹ 31 lakh more than her income and about 28% more. This difference points to her illegal earnings.
How was the arrest made?
On the basis of intelligence information, the police stopped a black Mahindra Thar. As soon as the vehicle stopped, the woman (Amandeep) sitting in it got out and started running, but the police immediately caught her. After drugs were found in the search of the vehicle, she was arrested under the NDPS Act.
